you may be wondering who this guy is that just started an instagram page and posting cool pics of coffee shops, liking your pics, and asking for coffee to sample; or you may not care at all haha but if you do, here’s the story behind it.

originally from vancouver canada, i was living in the roma neighbourhood of mexico city. my working background is a project manager for a metal and glass company, turned project contractor, turned pocket squarist (not really a word, check out my IG @vancitysquares), turned bookkeeper..you get the idea, i like to change it up.

i’ve always had an appreciation for design and architecture, which drew me to cool coffee shops. by no means am i a coffee expert, but i definitely have a love for it. working a monday-friday, 9-5 job had me longing to live out my dream, go to cool coffee shops and work on my laptop. i finally got that chance when i quit my project management job and started contracting. i loved it! i can easily make a coffee at home, but it was always an adventure to go to a new coffee shop. something about being there made me feel at home, and happy, everyone was always in such a good mood. coffee does that to people.

fast forward a couple years and I decided to move to mexico city, a change, something new. Mexico City is amazing, the history and architecture, the grafitied streets, and of course, the super cool coffee scene.

work was pretty slow and I was looking to keep myself busy. since i loved and went to so many coffee shops, i took a lot of pictures, they were just sitting on my phone, i wanted to do something with them and share them, so I decided to start my ig page. i’ve actually always wanted to be a barista and open up my own shop. who knows, maybe one day.
i’ve been reading a lot and watching youtube clips trying to learn more about how to make and brew the best coffee at home using a french press, chemex, and kalita (if you have any tips, please share). and so that’s why you see me commenting and sliding into you dm’s asking for samples, i want to try everything!!! plus, i’m a sucker for packaging.
all the pictures i’ve posted are ones i’ve taken. i’m happy to share them with you, and continue to share more cool coffee shops, especially the local ones here in mexico city, and there are some rad ones.

thanks for reading, and i hope you enjoyed my story. i do want to try to blog my experiences. i’m clearly not a writer by any means, and it probably won’t be the prettiest form of writing, but being able to express and share how i feel about coffee/coffee shops with you, makes me happy. so enjoy..
