if you read my recent blog about morgon you’ll note that i had a friend from mexico meet my friend in vancouver to bring me that bag. when he asked me what i wanted, i sent him a screen shot of both that bag of morgon and a bag of koppi, and to my huuuuuuuge surprise, he bought both for me. true friend. so here we are, another amazing coffee i get to try and write about. what else could i ask for! (maybe more koppi).

koppi’s been on my radar for a while. they’re another swedish roaster that i’m in love with. their packaging is beautiful and just listen to the taste notes, “tropical fruit bomb,” how can you not want to try it????

this bag of koppi is a mechanically pulped and soaked in water overnight sl28 and sl34 blend from giki gitiri kenya. it’s really fun to say, try it 🙂 on opening the bag, it was a delicate mix of honey, dates, and blueberry. now, i’d have that with some yogurt and granola, mmm a delicious breakfast. as a coffee, just as fantastic. it was interesting because the smell and taste weren’t exactly the same and i actually like that, it makes for a very unique and diverse cup of coffee. taste notes of blackberries and strawberries, and a slight citric lemon finish made for a very beautiful cup of coffee. you’d expect me to make this up as a pour over, but those notes are actually from a shot of espresso, yeah, i tricked you like that. it was delicious, and with a hint of milk, amazing. yes yes, next time i’ll make it up as a pour over, i’m sure it’ll be just as good.

as i mentioned, koppi is based out of sweden, but its possible to get your hands on a bag at certain multi-roaster coffee shops. do some research to find out if you can get one. if you can’t, just go on their website, thats the easiest way. i’ve attached the link below. if you’re a coffee lover, koppi is a cup you need to try, trust me.
