this is the second bag of grumpy coffee that i recently received and i was not disappointed. their coffee and profiles are just as awesome as their branding, one reason why they’re one of my fav roasters.

kochere is a washed heirloom from ethiopia. what’s cool about this coffee is that a number of small producers team up to make this one up. teamwork and a cooperative effort makes this coffee a delicious one. when you open the bag, what you smell is pretty much what you get. nice darker fruity smells of cranberry, raisin, and jam whet your pallet. because of the tastes notes i felt like making it up in the kalita would be the way to go, at least for a first cup. that same fruity jam taste came out very nicely. raspberry and blackberries mixed with a caramel finish. mmm. i think with taste notes like this, i might try to have it as an espresso, or even add a little water and try it as an americano.

man, as i mentioned, grumpy is one of my favs, i just wished i lived closer to brooklyn to enjoy them more often. i do very much appreciate them sending coffee for me to try, and share. i’m sure i can speak for ones that have had some that we’re all very un-grumpy after drinking it.

you should definitly get your own bag of grumpy, you’ll love it. get a little mug to go with it too, they’re amazing. and if you’re from the ny area, lucky you. the only thing that makes me grumpy, is not being closer and having more grumpy in my life.
