dom is my second of three coffees that i received from modus. this one is their standard. i was in the mood for something comforting and easy, and this was exactly that.

dom is a guatemalan washed pache and san ramon blend. i knew i wanted to have an americano this morning, but when i prep my blog, i like to try it as a straight up espresso, to see the difference. to be honest, flavour-wise, they were both similar, but of course, the espresso was a bit bolder and stronger. this was a light, easy to drink coffee. notes were right on. chocolatey, nougat, with subtle fruits, and just enough acidity. i think i made the right choice in going the espresso route. if i was to try it in another way, i’d probably say french press. (whoever’s reading, want me to try in a specific way? leave a comment below).

modus is a new-ish coffee shop in vancouver, only open 1-2 years. they’re working hard to roast and put out unique, delicious coffee’s. they have a beautiful shop on west broadway, so if you need a quick morning coffee, or an afternoon stop from a busy day, check them out, you’ll be very very happy.
